The Office of the Traffic Commissioner has recently released details of the new appointees to their office.  Gerallt Evans has been appointed Traffic Commissioner for the North West of England, with Victoria Davies appointed as the new Traffic Commissioner for Wales following the retirement of Mr. Nick Jones.

Gerallt Evans is reported to have extensive experience working in the legal profession with over 30 years as a solicitor.  For the majority of that time he worked as a prosecutor for the Crown Prosecution Service based in Wales and at the CPS's head office in London.  Prior to his appointment he served as the Deputy Chief Crown Prosecutor with responsibility for all prosecutions in Magistrates' Courts in Wales.

Victoria Davies is also a lawyer with over 25 years' experience.  She has worked as a senior lawyer managing the transport team for the Welsh Government and before that for the Department for Transport as a senior advisory lawyer including for the Road Transport Advisory Division.

Richard Turfitt, Senior Traffic Commissioner said "I am delighted that Victoria and Gerallt have been appointed to the TC team.  They bring with them valuable experience of legal process and regulation, which will be used to great effect in serving the communities of their respective traffic areas.  I am genuinely looking forward to working with them".

Both new appointees took up their posts in February 2020.
