Tachographs – Digital and Analogue

With the advent of digital technology more and more coach (and mixed bus & coach) companies are facing the challenge of getting to grips with the operation of vehicles fitted with digital tachograph vehicle units versus the old analogue ones. Many operators now run entirely ‘digital’ fleets.

Even if your business still runs a fully analogue fleet there is a strong likelihood that you will have to deal with drivers in possession of digital driver cards and sooner or later you may have to manage a contract using a “digital” vehicle (perhaps at short notice when a coach must be hired in to cover for another vehicle which has had to be taken off the road unexpectedly). For the uninitiated the world of digital tachographs can be a minefield – and getting the right advice, preferably before a digital vehicle is put into service, is essential.

The good news is that the advice that operators of coaches require and many of the systems that need to be implemented are matters that Pellys Transport & Regulatory Law solicitors can help you to put in place, ensuring that you receive the right advice from the very start. Contact us to discuss how we can help your transport business with the operation of both digital and analogue tachographs.
