The 12 Day Rule

Operators should be aware that from 4th June 2010, the new "12 Day Rule" derogation has come into effect.  This allows drivers to work for up to 12 consecutive 24 hour periods on single international journeys provided certain conditions are met and extended periods of rest are taken before and after the journey.

Operators should keep the new derogation in mind if they plan to be carrying out international journeys, especially in a busy upcoming summer season.

If operators have any queries on the operation of the 12 day rule, we would be happy to advise - please call us on 01279 758080.
